Frost Window is a free reference that shows average frost dates and planting dates for places in the United States. By using frostwindow.com (the “Site”) you agree to these terms. The Site is operated by JY Concepts, New York, USA.

Averages, not forecasts

Frost dates on the Site are long-term averages from NOAA’s 1991–2020 U.S. Climate Normals for the weather station named on each page. Planting dates come from a 1967 USDA table applied to those averages. Any year can be earlier or later, and your own garden may be warmer or colder than the station. Check your local forecast before planting; we are not responsible for losses from frost or planting decisions.

Using the information

The underlying NOAA, USDA and Census data are works of the US government. You may quote and link to the Site. Don’t scrape or copy it in bulk, except search engines indexing it normally.

The Site’s design, code and name are owned by JY Concepts.
